Week 5 – PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (1-3) AT BUFFALO BILLS (3-1)

Philadelphia is averaging 163.5 yards per game rushing the football (2nd in the league) and is up against a Bills team that is 27th place in this category giving up 129 yards per game on the ground. This is where the Eagles will look to exploit the Bills defense as teams have all year. To make things even worse, the Bills have one of the worst defenses against the pass as well and have been torched by everyone, including mediocre quarterbacks like Oakland’s Jason Campbell and the Bengals Andy Dalton. Michael Vick is too dominate and dynamic of a quarterback in comparison and with big time playmakers like DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy, Philadelphia is going to have no problem putting up points against the Bills…..and a lot of them.
Ryan Fitzpatrick has played very well in his 4th year as a starting quarterback, but had a tough week in Cincinnati throwing for under 200 yards with no touchdowns. It won’t get any easier this week against the Eagles who are stacked with shutdown corners Asante Samuel, Nnamdi Asomugha and DB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
If this comes down to a shootout like many Buffalo games have this year, I don’t see Vick and company losing that battle. We can all thank Alex Henery for blowing 2 field goals in the fourth quarter last week which led to the Eagles loss and likely kept this line at only -3. On a side note, why did the Eagles ever let David Akers get away during free agency? He was a beast. Now they are stuck with Henery, who will enjoy a CFL career if he misses as many field goals as he did last Sunday.
I’m jumping on this line early and not risking that it goes above 3. The 3 point line is key in my books and often is the difference between and push and a loss.
Pinnacle Sports line opens at the Eagles -3 on the road against the Bills. Note: This line has changed down to Eagles -1.5. The masses are betting the Bills hard. That makes this cash even easier for people who realize that this is a bad match up for the Bills.
Bodog currently has the Philadelphia Eagles -3 in Buffalo
If making easy money isn’t something you like very much, you should probably avoid this game like the plague. Since I like cash more than I dislike it, and since Fitzpatrick is going to have issues with the Eagles secondary, I’m laying 3 units on the Eagles this week. This is locked in at Eagles -1.5.
