Week 6 – SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (4-1) AT DETROIT LIONS (5-0)

I can’t believe I’m going to say this but here it comes…….. Sunday has a showdown
between two of the top teams in the NFC after five weeks between the undefeated Lions
and the 4-1 49ers. Granted the Lions probably deserve more respect, it’s extremely hard
to respect any team who has a quarterback named Alex Smith. He’s not brutal…. . he just
doesn’t belong in the NFL and especially not as a starting QB.
Anyways not to hate on Smith, I’m sure he will have a successful career as a vacuum
salesman in two years. Ok, ok, he has controlled the ball this year (7 TD’s 1 INT) and has
a passer rating over 100 to start the year. He’s improved, but Alex Smith always ends up
playing like the “true Alex Smith”
……and what better than a week 6 matchup against the Lions for the true Alex Smith
to shine through. Don’t kid yourself; you know exactly what I’m talking about. If Frank
Gore doesn’t control the ball and put up a big game against the Lions solid run defence
and if the 49ers defence doesn’t keep them in the game, this game will get ugly.
Stafford will have his hands full this week with a solid 49ers defence, but he has looked
poised for the most part all year and with Megatron at his disposal, he has been able to
put up points against almost everyone.
Both teams have solid defences, but if it comes down to offences, unless Gore proves
otherwise, the Lions have the far superior offence. (Especially at QB).
I’d expect this game will be quite low scoring and therefore this could end up being
a FG game. As a result, I’m locking in 2 units on the money line for the Lions to go
to 6-0.

So, you’re actually putting your own money on Detroit??? Just like the other teams that were suppose to beat the 49ers, Detroit is going to get theirs. You may want to take your bet back.

The 49ers defense has won them their games early on. They shouldn’t have won in Phili and if it wasn’t for 2 missed field goals they would have lost that game. In Seattle, the 49ers has 2 TD’s on special teams which made the game look like it wasn’t as close as it actually was.
The 49ers defense is good, but their offense isn’t. The Lions have a strong front 4 and should be able to contain Gore. If that happens, the Lions should be able to put up enough points for the Win.
Remember, some people like to be a fan, some people like to make cash. I like the latter and that’s why I’m taking the Lions.
