WEEK 10 NFL PICKS
New England Patriots (5-3) at New York Jets (5-3)
The Patriots worst ranked defense travels to New York in week 10 to face Mark Sanchez and the upstart Jets. Both teams are going in different directions as the Jets are riding a 3 game winning streak and the Patriots are on a 2 game losing streak. Both teams are tied with the Bills a top the AFC East division
During the week, the Patriots cut Albert Haynwsworth, who really didn’t do a lot for the Patriots defense. He did, however, at times clog up the middle and get a push against opposing offensive lines. But really, I’m praising a few plays rather than his overall play this year. Non the the less, the Patriots need help on defense and taking him out may not be the answer to their defensive woos.
Tom Brady threw for over 340 yards last week in which the Patriots losses on a last minute drive by Eli Manning. Sanchez, like every other mediocre quarterback who has faced the Patriots this year, will have a big day by their standards, but unlike Manning or Roethlisberger, their will be no last minute heriocs given that Sanchez is not the same calibre of player.
I think this is a war and the Patriots come off on top. It may not be pretty, but Tom Brady will get it done for the Patriots and break their 2 games losing streak and keep them in first place in the division.
This may be the only week of the year where you will get the Patroits as underdogs. There defense is horrendous and will give up points, but Tom Brady will put up points in this game and look for Ellis Green and the run game to be in full force in the Patriots offense. I’m taking the Patroits on the money line by 2 units against the Jets as underdogs.
