Week 11 NFL Picks- Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots

Kansas City Chiefs (4-5) at New England Patriots (6-3)
With Matt Cassell most likely out for the remainder of the season and with Jamal Charles already out for the season, the Chiefs run for the playoffs does not look promising. Things don’t get any easier this week as the Chiefs have to travel to Beantown to take on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
The line hasn’t been set for this game but I can’t see it being less than 13 points. Even if it is over 2 touchdowns, it could still be a steal to bet on the heavily favored Patriots. Updated: The line has opened at 14.5 points Time will tell, but don’t let the points scare you on this one. KC Chiefs have not been able to score points often and even with the worst pass defense in the league, Tyler Palko isn’t likely to solve any of the Chiefs scoring woos. It will be up to Thomas Jones, Dexter McCluster and Jackie Battle to control the clock, move the chains and put up enough points to win this one. I really don’t see that happening, as the Chiefs have been having trouble running this ball lately.
Tom Brady has been able to pick apart defenses all year long and will put up points in this one. Kansas City’s 22nd ranked defense will have their hands full with Brady and Welker, not too mention the two dominant tight ends Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski. The Chiefs have given up an average of 364 yards per game and that includes match ups against the lowly Dolphins and Broncos. I wouldn’t be surprised if Brady throws for 500 yards.
Can the Chiefs cover the spread?
It is not impossible that the Chiefs could keep this game within 2 touchdown, but it’s not probable by any means. Here are the top 3 reasons why they won’t be able to keep it close:
1) Tyler Palko is starting at Quarterback. No offense to Tyler, but eventhough the Patriots defense is one of the worst in the NFL, Tyler has limited playing time and would have his hands full with any NFL defense. The Patriots will look to stack the box and bring pressure the young Quarterback. The Chiefs Offensive line hasn’t provided great pressure or run blocking so it will be a very long day for Palko.
2) This is Monday Night Prime Time and The Patriots show up for Prime Time. The Patriots are looking to build on a big divisional game against the Jets and create seperation between themselves and the Jets and Bills. Bill Belichuk hates losing and loves blowing teams out, so don’t expect him to move to the run in the second half, even if the Patriots are up 20+.
3) Tom Brady.
Tom Brady puts up a ton of yards and finds the end zone more often than not. The best defense against the Patriots is having your own offense on the field for as long as possible and keeping Tom Brady off the field. Kansas City will have many 3 and outs and this will lead to New England points and a lot of Tom Brady.

you were right on for this game. But don’t count the chiefs out quite yet, palko looked decent.

The first quarter and most of the first half, the Chiefs defense looked like they were going to hold them in it. Palko looked ok, but once the Chiefs moved away from the run, it was over….
