DALLAS COWBOYS AT PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Philadelphia Eagles (2-4)
This is a must win for both of these teams in a tight NFC
East division. Both teams are underperforming this year and this is one of
those games that could decide these teams fate at making the playoffs,
especially the Eagles. Even though, there is 10 games to go, the Eagles can’t
afford to fall three games behind the Giants who are likely to win this week
against the Dolphins.
The Eagles are coming off a bye week, which was needed for
the banged up Eagles to get healthy, especially Vick. Prior to the bye, the
Eagles defence stepped up with 4 interceptions against Rex Grossman and the
Redskins. There is no doubt that Tony Romo is a better QB than Grossman, but
none the less that was a big confidence boost for the Eagles and they will look
to make Romo make the same mistakes. They will accomplish this if they can shut
down rookie DeMarco Murray, who had a breakout 236 rushing yard performance in
his first game as a starter and will be starting in replace of the injured
Felix Jones. The Eagles haven’t stopped the run well all year and may not do it
again in this game, although, it is also less likely that DeMarco Murray has as
big of a performance as last week.
The Eagles will be up against a Dallas run defence that has only given up 69
yards per game this year. That should pose some problem for Vick and McCoy,
however, a healthy Vick can run over any defence in the league. This week, he
will be healthy.
Both of these teams have played in a lot of close games this
year and there is a very good possibility that the trend continues. This is
Sunday night prime-time and in Philadelphia
and I think Vick is going to shine. The win over the redskins was a huge
building block and Romo will have his hands full with a tough Eagles secondary.
I’m not that happy with the 3.5 point
spread though and I’m going to wait to see if this spread gets down to -3 at
which point I will lay 1 unit on the Eagles to cover.
